The Lord has a special mandate for the church in Malaysia: He has brought many foreign workers who have never heard the Gospel in their homeland. The command of the Lord is to love the sojourners among us. ( Lev. 19:18; 33, Ex 22:20-21; 23:9, Zech 7:10.) This means we are not to oppress them, but work towards a just legal system to handle their grievances (Dt 1:16; 24:17; 27:19, Mal 3:5). We must protect their rights in having off day and holidays (Dt 5:14; Ex 23:12, 20:10), and help them understand the ordinances of the One and Only True God (Dt 31:12, Lev 17, 22:17).
While others have to endure culture shock, loneliness, the adjustment of relocation in order to participate in overseas mission but you just have to walk next door and meet the nations gathered in Malaysia. To miss this opportunity will be such a big loss. I pray that the Malaysian church will rise to the challenge of this mission opportunity at your doorstep.
基督耶穌在世时亲自立下了「服侍」与「传道」並重並行的模范；今日教会愛神同时也要愛人, 最有效的表达途经，就是要往普天下去传福音使万民成为基督门徒, 同时亦要关心他們生命和生
When Jesus Christ walks the earth, he sets a model of ‘Ministering’ while ‘Preaching’ and gave equivalent emphasis to both. The most effective way for Churches today to love God, and man as well is to preach the good news to the end of the world and make them Christ’s disciple, meanwhile we have to care for the needs of people of whom we are ministering to. This kind of mission that emphasize on both Great Commandment and Great Commission is known as ‘two legs walk on mission road’. May Histeam bring the concept and practicality of holistic care to Malaysian Chinese churches, through training and education to seminary students and believers, and to mobilize churches to involve in caring of the underprivileged group.
