Thanksgiving of 2009…
Time flies and waits for no one, but the Lord’s provision is sufficient in all circumstances.
HISTEAM has learned from many experiences in 2009. Now we are clearer in our vision and burden. By little faith, we keep on experiencing God’s trueness and guidance, and His faithful provision when we are lacking. While counting God’s grace and deed, we humbly aware that the mission entrusted to us requires the concerted effort of churches to accomplish it. Besides the reported ministry, there were many behind-scenes’ stories going on.
Praise the Lord, we have our mentors and spiritual elders who came and shared, and encouraged us in our monthly Praise & Prayer gathering. Great thanks to Ps. Kon Onn Keong, Teacher Yong, Bro. Huang Tze, Ps. Pax Tan, Rev. Foo Moy Peng, Dr. Tan Kim Sai, Bro. Samuel Ang, and Bro. Goh Keat Peng. We always hope that this meeting can benefit attendees, not only we uphold the nation with prayer, but also recharge and regain strength from the sharing of invited speakers. Next year, we plan to shift our morning gathering to other social organization every three months so that we can involve more people to join us in prayer and learn from one another. Besides that, this allows the participants to visit the social organization too. Please take note on our arrangement.
Thank God for giving HISTEAM precious opportunity to collaborate with some organizations in overseas like Chinese Christian Relief Association in Taiwan, World Vision of Taiwan, China Action Love Association, Chengdu Loving China Rehabilitation Hospital and so on. We learn a lot from these professional relief organizations. On the other hand, HISTEAM also has such opportunity to be a sending agency, commissioned long term volunteers to the relief field. When we are responding to the disaster in overseas, we also think of Malaysia, our beloved nation. We wish to equip churches to face the yet-to-happen disasters and care for the community during peaceful time. This year, with the collaboration of CREST, our strategic partner, we had responded to the flood relief work in Baram, Sarawak. This is the first step of our local disaster relief effort.
Next year, 13-16 Sept will be another milestone, the First Malaysian Christian Holistic Care Conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur. We hope to enhance relationship and partnership between churches and social organizations and initiate innovative services so that the local caring ministry could have breakthrough growth. This is the first Christian social concern conference in Mandarin. Thank God for this wonderful matching that HISTEAM has this opportunity to organize this conference collaboratively with Jubilee Initiative Malaysia, National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (Chinese Committee), Malaysian Care and World Vision Malaysia. Please mark this date and reserve your time to join! More interesting programme is in planning now.
Here we would like to take this opportunity to thank our supporting churches, whether it’s invitation, cooperation or offering. Because of you, we can do more and walk farther. Hopefully we can serve you in the future. At the same time, we would like to thank all brothers and sisters who care for us, respond endlessly and support our ministry financially. Without you, the journey we walk will be harder and tougher.
Thank you Abba Father, for being so good to us.
